Fort Pierce Ocean Race

 MYC is collaborating with Fort Pierce YC and St Lucie Sailing Club to conduct a two-day ocean sailing regatta on 4 – 5 May 2024. 

The regatta will consist of:

Friday 3 May – Starting at 6 pm there will be registration and a competitors meeting.  There will also be dinner and social time.

Saturday 4 May – Starting at 10:30 am there will be an 18 nm ocean race in the waters off Ft. Pierce Inlet.  There will be dinner and social time starting at 5 pm.  The courses being considered are a triangle or the out and back format.  The out and back is where you have a start/finish line and race east to a longitude line.  You can choose your course to the line, you just have to cross the line anywhere and then return to the start/finish line.

Sunday 5 May – We are considering two options.

Starting at Noon with a 10 NM Course

Starting at 10 AM with a 15 NM Course

With either option, there will be awards at 4 pm.  Food will be available.

We are working on arrangements for docking at the Ft. Pierce City Marina.

  We also solicit your comments on the course for Saturday and the time/distance options for Sunday.  Our goal is to make this a competitive but fun event, to get as many boats as possible out racing. Contact Del Wiese mobile 321-795-6803.
